We are writing to share some important information with you.
Contract Negotiations
The WCTA Bargaining Team worked for two full days prior to break negotiating with WWS admin to secure a tentative agreement. This is VERY important: The Bargaining Team believes that we have achieved an excellent settlement, but it hinges entirely on whether the WWS Referendum passes. Please do all that you can to support the passage of the referendum. If it does not, it will be back to the drawing board and the results very likely difficult to swallow.
As of this week, we have received word that a group called "Americans for Prosperity", an anti-referendum group, is actively spreading disinformation through direct mailers to Westfield voters about the WWS referendum. Please do all that you can to educate your community connects about the facts related to the referendum.

Contract Ratification
We will be holding a member-only Contract Info and Ratification Meeting on Thursday, November 5th at 4:15pm in the WMS (main campus) LGI. All members will receive a calendar invitation. IMPORTANT: Due to the tight timeline with election day and meeting state regulations for ratifying contracts, voting will be in-person only this time. Please make every effort to attend the meeting so that your vote can be cast.
A Thank-You!
Many WCTA members have been working hard to help the referendum pass by standing at polling places, walking neighborhoods, or through text-banking. Something worth mentioning: our pool of text-banking volunteers sent over 40,000 text messages to Westfield voters within the span of one week! This is amazing work....thank you!
The work is not over. We must press on through election day to ensure that the referendum passes and we can get our new contract in place!
